Bound Brook police chief, restaurant owner arraigned on corruption charges

The Bound Brook police chief and a local restaurant owner were arraigned Wednesday on corruption charges.

Police say Chief Kenneth Henderson tipped off the owner of Caf Imperial, Raphael Rosario, that alcoholic beverage control agents were about to raid the restaurant. Henderson was charged with official misconduct, obstruction of justice and conspiracy.

Chief Henderson has been released on bail. Rosario, a prominent Hispanic leader in Bound Brook, remains in jail. Bound Brooks mayor says two members of the Somerset County prosecutors office have taken over Hendersons responsibilities. The borough also says there was no evidence of any widespread corruption or dishonesty in the department.
