Two Bogota High School students charged with conspiracy to commit murder

Two students at Bogota High School were charged with conspiracy to commit murder after a note with a murder plot was found.

According to police, the hand-written, two-page note found in a classroom Thursday described in detail a plot to kill another student. Police and school administrators determined that a 15-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl were writing the note and passing it back and forth. Judging by the handwriting, they zeroed in on the specific students, who later admitted to writing the note.

Detectives believe the two teens had the means and ability to carry out the murder. They say the items described in the note to be used, several swords and a pair of nunchuckus, were recovered from the boys bedroom.

Police say there is no history of conflict between the boy and the two students charged. The girl charged is undergoing psychiatric evaluation at Bergen Regional Medical Center. The boy was in court Monday for a hearing.
