Voters in South Belmar will be asked to change their town name on Election Day

Voters in South Belmar will be asked to change the name of their town on Election Day.

South Belmar Mayor Larry Chiaravallo wants to change the name to Lake Como, which is a lake bordering the town. Chiaravallo feels the town needs its own identity and shouldn't be considered a part of Belmar.

Chiaravallo says the town will still have representation on the Belmar Board of Education.
