New Jersey organizers want active Latin voting contingent

(11/01/04) MORRISTOWN Political activists in New Jersey communities are conducting a grassroots campaign to get Latino voters to the polls this Election Day.

A spokesperson for the voting drive says they have worked very hard to get their message out to members of the Latin community. There are currently 42 million Latinos living in the U.S., and some people believe the Latin vote could have a significant impact on the election.

Activists involved with the Latino voter recruitment also say bad weather should not be something that keeps residents away from the polls. A company called Darma is planning to help get people out to cast their votes if they need a ride. Darma can be contacted at (973) 592-2562.
