Healy elected Jersey City mayor in special election

(11/02/04) JERSEY CITY Jerramiah Healy has been elected Jersey City mayor in Tuesdays special election. The special election was held to find a replacement for Glen Cunningham, who died last spring.

Healy says his main priority in office will be to improve the quality of life for Jersey City residents. In order to do this, Healy says he will increase the number of police officers on the street and work to create an anti-gang unit within the police force.

The next election for a full-term mayor will take place in May.
