NJ National Guard troops bid farewell to loved ones at send-off in Toms River

(11/07/04) TOMS RIVER - A second wave of New Jersey Army National Guard Troops are being deployed overseas. A send-off event was held Sunday in Toms River for the soldiers who will be gone for a year or more.

Members of the New Jersey Guard's 3rd battalion based in Ocean County got a chance to say goodbye to their loved ones before they are sent overseas to defend the United States.

Even more troops from New Jersey soon will be deployed by the end of the year.
