Little Egg Harbor students return to class after jet fighter shoots at school

Students at Little Egg Harbor Intermediate School returned to class Monday after an F-16 fighter plane shot at the school last week.

On Wednesday, the F-16 was on a nighttime training mission to the nearby Warren Grove Firing Range, when the pilot fired 25 rounds. School officials say several of those rounds pierced the roof of the building and were shot inside a few classrooms.

Warplanes from the entire East Coast come to Warren Grove for bombing and strafing practice. However, all training has been suspended since the incident while military officials investigate what went wrong.

Some parents are worried about the safety of their children. Some even want Warren Grove closed for good. Those concerned parents will be able to voice their opinions at a town meeting Monday.
