Quality of life issues top talks at League of Municipalities meeting in Atlantic City

(11/17/04) ATLANTIC CITY Local leaders from all over New Jersey are looking for ways to improve residents quality of life at the annual League of Municipalities convention in Atlantic City.

Leaders say their main task is always to make life better without raising taxes. Officials at the convention say consolidation of services often helps cities and towns reach that goal. According to the head of the East Brunswick Engineering Department, the League of Municipalities is helpful because other leaders, vendors and services are all under one roof.

Those attending the convention this year will also get to witness Acting Governor Dick Codey make his first major public speech. That address is scheduled to take place Thursday afternoon.
