State police looking for aggressive, impaired drivers over the holiday weekend

State police will be looking out for aggressive and impaired drivers over the holiday weekend.

Police say they will be using unmarked cars to look out for aggressive drivers. They add that 14 unmarked cars will be used specifically for this weekend to watch the hundreds of cars passing through New Jersey.

Lieutenant Juan Mattos says research has shown that just the sight of an unmarked car pulling over a motorist curbs aggressive drivers behavior for many miles. Mattos says the objective for state police officers this weekend is to reduce the number of accidents, injures and fatalities.

Police officials also say that the purpose of this crackdown is not to give out tickets but to ensure that people have a safe weekend.
