Family, police thankful missing Mercer County boy found safe

(11/25/04) WASHINGTON A Mercer County family, along with many police officials, are breathing a sigh of relief after a missing 12-year-old boy was found safe Thanksgiving morning.

More than 100 police officials combed areas of the county looking for Kenny Leszcynski. Prosecutor Joseph Bocchini says the young man spent parts of two days split between a restroom at Mercer County Park and his grandmothers house. Thursday, he snuck into his grandmothers house without her knowledge and fell asleep underneath a bed. He was discovered later that morning at that location.

Bocchini would not comment on the reasons why Leszcynski ran away from home. He claims it was a personal family matter.
