Hudson County Dems move quickly to replace Assemblyman Impreveduto

(11/29/04) NORTH BERGEN Democrats in Hudson County wasted little time Monday night in electing a replacement for former Assemblyman Anthony Impreveduto.

The committee chose Vincent Prieto (D-Assemblyman-Elect) to take Imprevedutos 32nd District seat in just 15 minutes. Impreveduto resigned after pleading guilty to corruption charges earlier in November. One Democrat in attendance says due to earlier deaths and resignations, the committee has actually gotten a lot of practice when it comes to appointing replacements to the Assembly.

Prieto has experience as a construction code official and as director of inspections for Secaucus. He believes his work in municipal governments will help him perform his tasks well. Democrats must now follow a list of formal procedures before Prietos appointment is finalized.
