Five buildings damaged after three-alarm fire breaks out in Paterson apartment
Five buildings were damaged after a three-alarm fire broke out Wednesday morning in a Paterson apartment building.
Fire officials say the flames started in an occupied apartment building on Governor Street near Rosa Parks Boulevard. They say the blaze quickly spread to others due to the strong winds.
Patersons fire chief says three of the five damaged buildings are total losses. He says the other two suffered exterior fire damage. A Paterson Councilwoman is asking the building inspector to declare the buildings uninhabitable immediately.
No one was injured in the fire. Fire officials do not know the cause of the fire yet.
