Parents hear plans for multi-million dollar Neptune school makeover

(12/01/04) NEPTUNE Parents learned additional information Wednesday about a multi-million dollar Neptune public school makeover.

Officials at Woodrow Wilson School, Neptunes only public school, say it is not right for students to learn in classrooms split in half by dividers. One school employee says Neptune residents have a responsibility to provide students with a safe and proper learning environment.

A proposed $14 million bond issue, if approved, will be used to build five new classrooms, a new gym and new music room. The money will also be used to remodel the entire school building. Taxpayers will be asked to shell out an additional $350 per year in property taxes if the bond issue is given the green light.

The bond issue will be up for vote on December 14.
