Some residents in Union Township upset over proposed billboard

Some residents in Union Township are upset over a 92 foot billboard that may go up off Route 78.

Opponents of the proposed billboard say it will ruin the quality of life in the community. Many residents say they will get together to fight against the building of the sign.

If the billboard is approved, it will tower 92 feet above Route 78 and several nearby homes and businesses. The base of the proposed sign will be in the back parking lot of the Jayson Company. The owner of the company hopes the billboard is approved because he says he spent a lot of money cleaning up the site for it.

The Jayson Company has been working with the billboard company to try to minimize the neighbors complaints. The Union Township Zoning Board will discuss the situation Wednesday night.
