String of shootings in Newark leaves four dead

(12/14/04) NEWARK A string of shootings in Newark Tuesday has left four people dead.

Newark police say the attacks took place within hours of each other. One person was killed on South 15th Street and another was fatally wounded on Clinton Avenue. During a third shooting on Irvine Turner Boulevard, a person was killed and a fourth near Elizabeth and Meeker streets.

Authorities are not releasing much information about the shootings, but they say they are looking for two individuals who fled the attack on South 15th Street. Police officials would not comment on any possible connection between the three shootings.
