A number of high profile court cases take center stage in Ocean County Court
A number of high profile court cases took center stage in Ocean County Court Friday. A former summer cop in Seaside Heights admitted to sexually assaulting three boys he met on the Internet. Steven Savacool, 23, copped a surprise plea and could now face 20 years in prison. In addition to the assaults, he also pleaded guilty to sending obscene materials to boys on the Internet. The victims' families didn't want to comment, but the prosecutor says the plea deal was a relief. Two high profile bail hearings also took place. The first hearing was for Little Egg Harbor resident Brian Warner who is charged with trying to lure three young girls into a van with a cage inside, and no door handles. Warners lawyer says he didn't pose a threat and his bail should be reduced. Warner had been charged with child enticement in Idaho too. The judge took that into account and refused to lower his bail. Another motion denied had to do with Scott Robinson, a young father from Lakehurst charged with killing his 6-week-old son. One family member had requested an increase in bail, but his parents wanted a decrease. The judge deemed him a flight risk and kept bail at $500,000.
