Passaic city officials and police give the gift of a bike to some lucky kids

The city of Passaic and the police department held a free raffle for 100 childrens bikes Saturday. All of the bikes were either lost and never claimed or collected by the citys narcotics team.

A city official says said the city ran out of space for the bikes and they decided to give the bikes back to the community. The official also said some of the bikes need a few repairs, but most of them are as good as new.

As an added bonus, a registration number is etched on every bike so if it gets lost or stolen it can be returned. The city plans on holding another bike raffle before the end of the year.
