New Jersey residents helping to send home reservists stationed at Fort Dix

Some California Army National Guard Troops stationed in New Jersey are trying to get home for the Christmas holiday.

Residents from all across the state have been donating money to send home 33 California reservists stationed at Fort Dix. The soldiers were originally promised flights home, however that plan fell through. And many of those soldiers trying to make it home for the holidays could not afford to pay their own way.

Members of the not-for-profit American Recreational Military Services have been working overtime to try and get the soldiers home. They managed to reserve 33 tickets on various airlines. Now, they are trying to raise funds to cover the cost of the flights.
