Wayne traffic nightmare averted after Route 23 reopens

(12/21/04) WAYNE Evening commuters in Wayne received an early Christmas gift when Department of Public Works crews reopened Route 23 following a water main break Tuesday.

The main break occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. The incident forced a complete closure of Route 23, which a Department of Public Works official says would have caused a great inconvenience for evening commuters. According to the Wayne mayor, drivers can thank hard-working road crews for their speedy response to the problem.

The Wayne mayor also says due to the break, there is a boil water advisory in effect for some area homes during the next 48 hours or until further notice.
