Jersey City group home causes concern among parents in neighborhood

Residents in a Jersey City neighborhood are concerned over a group home that houses people with serious mental illnesses or developmental disabilities.

The home, run by an organization called SERV, is located on South Street in the Heights Section. While residents agree that those who live in the group home have not demonstrated any violence, they are still uneasy about letting their children play outside.

One resident said she is considering selling her home. However, other residents said the group home members have not broken any laws and did not see any reason for concern.
