Indian community in South Brunswick teams with charity to aid tsunami victims

(01/02/05) SOUTH BRUNSWICK - An Indian community in South Brunswick has teamed up with an international charity to provide its share of relief to the earthquake and tsunami victims of Southeast Asia.

Durga Temple members are working with the Care and Share Foundation that provides health care, education and supplies to nations in need.

Congregants donated boxes of clothing, towels and sheets. Many of them once called the devastated parts of India home. Their goal is to fill up a shipping container that can hold up to 40,000 pounds. The Care and Share Foundation will fund the shipping costs.
