South Belmar residents can now say they live in Lake Como
South Belmar residents can officially say they live in Lake Como Wednesday.
Approximately two months ago, people who were tired of their town being confused with Belmar voted on a name change. Even though the town?s name is officially changed, almost everything in the town still says South Belmar. Lake Como Mayor Lawrence Chiaravallo says new signs are currently being printed to say, ?Welcome to Lake Como.?
Many residents say Lake Como sounds classier than South Belmar. Local business owners are paying to change the logos and signs in the town. Lake Como was named after a lake in the town that borders Spring Lake.
