Residents in Morris and Sussex counties digging out from snow, slush and ice
Residents of Morris and nearby Sussex counties are trying to de-ice and dry off. Thursday?s storm left between four and five inches of snow, followed by freezing rain. Now roadways and parking lots are covered with slush. Cold temperatures and freezing rain slowed travel in north Jersey Wednesday morning. Forecasters say ice may still be a problem in parts if temperatures remain below freezing. While rain is expected to continue thorough the afternoon, the National Weather Service says there should be no additional ice accumulation. The rain should taper to showers before ending late in the day.
