Two-alarm fire in Trenton could have been fatal had it started earlier

A two-alarm fire that started just after 8 a.m. Friday in Trenton could have become a tragedy if it had started just one hour earlier. About a dozen children were in the three-story apartment building on Prospect Street around 7 a.m. Luckily they had all left for school just prior to the fire starting. It took about an hour to extinguish the blaze and residents say they are thankful the children were not in the building. Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
