Truck drivers union continues to strike in Ewing against waste company

Truck drivers from the Teamsters Union continued to strike Wednesday against the Waste Management Company in Mercer County.

The activity at the county garbage transfer station in Ewing on the third day of the strike was not affected. However, there was garbage was sitting on the streets in Trenton?s business district and several streets in Hamilton Township have not had the residential garbage collected. Plans are being formulated by the company to pick up the trash as soon as possible.

Those who are striking would like to sit down with the management and negotiate a contract. The union hopes the company will come up with a contract that benefits both sides.
