In Jersey City, some families have been cramped in their apartments and doing their best to deal with a lack of heat. Residents have been using space heaters, boiling water and multiple clothing layers to stay warm until the heat is fixed.

Housing officials who encounter problems work with the power company and certain landlords to get the situation resolved as soon as possible. Those in Jersey City experiencing heating problems are encouraged to call (201) 547-4821.
