Garden State workers, residents prepping for major snowstorm

(01/21/05) MILLTOWN ? Road crews and residents throughout New Jersey are on high alert for what is expected to be a major weekend snowstorm.

Crews spent Friday afternoon filling dump trucks with salt and prepping their plans of action. According to a foreman for the New Jersey Turnpike, 35 of his trucks will be placed in various spots between Interchange 8 and Interchange 10. The foreman also says drivers will be in their designated positions three hours before the snowfall begins.

Residents in several towns spent the afternoon stocking up on snow shovels, gas for their snow blowers and plenty of food to help them ride out the storm.
