Newark?s sanitation department is trying to stay ahead of the white stuff

Sanitation workers in Newark say they are trying to keep ahead of the snow.

Every hour about 40 dump trucks line up to fill up with salt and dirt. Nearly 80 employees and about 60 trucks are included in Newark?s snow clearing operation. The sanitation department says more trucks are going to be added as the snow intensifies.

The sanitation department says to avoid going out on the roads because the heavy snow will make the roads more treacherous by the minute.
