Suspended Bound Brook police chief facing new misconduct charges

(01/26/05) SOMERVILLE ? The suspended police chief of the Bound Brook Police Department was arraigned for the second time in three months Wednesday on charges stemming from his alleged on-the-job misconduct.

Kenneth Henderson, who was accused in October of warning a restaurant owner of a pending liquor license investigation, faces new charges surrounding an incident at the Blair House Apartments in 2002. Prosecutors say Henderson allowed a group of drug suspects go at that time without checking for outstanding warrants. Investigators say three of the suspects in question were wanted by police.

The defendant?s lawyers claim the charges are the result of a personal vendetta against the suspended chief. Henderson is charged with official misconduct, obstruction and evidence tampering.
