424th Quartermaster Company back at Fort Dix after deployment in Iraq

(01/27/05) FORT DIX - Soldiers of the 424th Quartermaster Company arrived at Fort Dix Thursday after a one-year tour of duty in Iraq.

The soldiers received high praise from their superiors, one of which said the troops could truly take ownership of the word ?hero.? Two members of the company received the bronze star for valor. More importantly, the 424th did not suffer any casualties.

Next up for the soldiers is a trip to Fort Cotton in New York. Many of them will be reunited with their families at that time.
