Hackensack police nab father and son duo in UPS pot smuggling scheme

(01/31/05) HACKENSACK ? Police in Hackensack have arrested a delivery driver and his son and accused them of smuggling marijuana using UPS truck routes.

According to authorities, Josiah Davis used his job as a UPS truck driver to move large amounts of marijuana into New Jersey. Police say Davis would have the shipments mailed to businesses located along his delivery route. By doing this, police officials say the boxes of illegal drugs would be shipped right to his truck.

Hackensack police have also arrested Davis?s son, Jerome, for his involvement in the alleged scheme. A police department spokesperson says they were alerted to an incoming shipment by authorities in California.

Both Davis and his son are being held on $1 million bail.
