Roselle Army sergeant pleads guilty to some Iraqi prisoner abuse charges

(02/01/05) FORT HOOD, TX ? An Army sergeant from Roselle pleaded guilty Tuesday to some charges stemming from the mistreatment of prisoner?s at Iraq?s Abu Ghraib prison.

Sgt. Javal Davis accepted a deal from prosecutors and pleaded guilty to three of the five charges levied against him. Davis says he is not guilty of more serious conspiracy charges or of maltreating detainees.

The sergeant faces up to six and a half years in prison.
