Communications system back up and running for Bogota Police Department

Residents who tried to call the Bogota Police Department Friday morning were out of luck. Officials say the department?s communications system went down overnight.

The Bogota police captain said he didn't think there was a problem with the telephone lines but rather an internal equipment problem. He adds the department couldn't make or receive phone calls.

Police officials say all incoming calls, including emergency calls, were rerouted to the Bergen County Police Department. The Bogota Police Department had the problem fixed by noon Friday.
