Police search Atlantic City for suspect in deadly LI & CT jewelry store robberies

Authorities are hunting in Atlantic City Friday for a man accused of killing three jewelers during a robbery spree in New York and Connecticut.

Atlantic City and state police would not confirm that the suspect, 23-year-old Christopher DiMeo, had been found in Atlantic City. However, a caravan of state police and Homeland Security Department vehicles arrived at the Ascot Motel near the Tropicana Casino and Resort about 2 p.m.

Meanwhile, police have confirmed that the same weapon was used in the Glen Head, NY murder as in the murders of jewelry owners in Fairfield, CT.
