Parsippany teachers reach tentative contract agreement with district

(02/04/05) PARSIPPANY ? Parsippany teachers have finally come to a tentative contract agreement with the school district after more than a year and a half of tough negotiations.

Under the settlement, teachers will get a lump-sum spending increase on salaries spread out over four years. They will receive an average salary raise of $2,700 per year with the new agreement.

Despite not having to pay anything for monthly premiums, the teachers will be faced with higher co-pays. Parsippany Superintendent Eugene Vasile says the contract negotiations were some of the toughest in the district?s history.
