Body of missing woman found in tank at Totowa water treatment plant

(02/09/05) TOTOWA - Investigators have found the body of a woman who went missing Tuesday at the Passaic Valley Water Treatment Plant in Totowa.

Police officials say Geetha Angara, a 43-year-old mother of three from Holmdel, was found in a 35-foot water tank at approximately 6:30 p.m. Police have not ruled out foul play, but authorities say the death may be accidental. Angara worked at the plant as a chemist.

Authorities spent the day Wednesday scouring the plant after Angara?s co-workers reported her missing Tuesday evening. Those who worked with the deceased woman say they last saw her getting ready to calibrate a machine at the facility before she disappeared.

As a precaution, there is a boil water advisory in effect for parts of Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Morris and Hudson counties.
