Man shot and killed on New Jersey Transit bus in Newark

? A passenger aboard a New Jersey Transit bus bound for Elizabeth was shot and killed on Friday. The bus was heading southbound on Broad Street in Newark at around 3:30 P.M. when the incident occurred.Witnesses say the two men boarded the bus at the same time and exchanged words before the shooting. The shooting was the second on-board a New Jersey transit bus in a month. Four weeks ago, a young girl was injured when a man opened fired on a bus in Trenton. Commuters are calling for more security on buses after the shootings because they fear for their safety aboard these buses. A New Jersey Transit official said there are no plans to increase security on its buses. NJT spends about $48 million annually on police and bus security. Newark police are searching for the gunman but presently have no leads in Friday?s shooting.
