Two killed after small plane crashes on takeoff from Greenwood Lake Airport

A small plane carrying two people crashed Sunday afternoon on takeoff from Greenwood Lake Airport, killing both passengers.

A Federal Aviation Administration official says the Cessna 1-72 was attempting to take off when it crashed at the end of the runway. Officials say the plane was engulfed by flames and destroyed.

West Milford police have confirmed both passnegers died in the crash.
