Brave souls take a swim at the Jersey Shore for the Special Olympics

Even with an air temperature of 30 degrees and the water being only 38 degrees, more than 3,000 brave New Jersey residents took a dip into the frigid waters off Point Pleasant Beach for the 12th annual Polar Bear Plunge Sunday.The annual Polar Bear Plunge supports the Special Olympics of New Jersey. Last year, the plunge raised more than $500,000 for the Special Olympics. This year the organizers hope to raise more than $700,000. For more information about the Polar Bear Plunge click here.
