Westfield residents preparing to roll out red carpet for President Bush

? Residents in Westfield are busily preparing for the arrival of President George W. Bush as he tours the country to promote his Social Security plan.

President Bush will be speaking at the National Guard Armory Friday. Those who are helping to prepare for the president?s arrival say they are especially excited because the event will mark the first time an American president has visited the Westfield armory. Other Westfield residents spent part of the day Thursday driving past the site to get a sneak peak at the presidential preparations.

Police aren?t anticipating any traffic troubles due to the fact the armory is not in an area with a major transportation artery. In addition, school will already be in session at the time of the president?s visit.

The president?s speech is an invitation-only event.
