President Bush met by protesters at the Westfield Armory, one woman arrested

Police have arrested one woman near the Westfield Armory Friday where President George W. Bush held a town meeting on Social Security. The woman was charged with disorderly conduct. Witnesses said she tried to walk into the street against police orders to stay on the sidewalk. Police say several hundred people gathered outside the armory. Many were protesting Bush's proposal to permit younger workers to invest a portion of their Social Security contributions in private stock accounts. Not everyone at the protest was there to criticize Bush's plan, many supporters were on hand as well.
