Panic, chaos evident from 911 calls concerning Petco explosion in Eatontown

The 911 calls released Wednesday paint a vivid picture of the panic and chaos concerning an explosion at a Petco Store in Eatontown.

Five people were injured last Friday after a contractor hit a gas line causing the blast. Officials say the calls give people a glimpse of what it was like to be trapped inside after the explosion.

Emergency crews were able to save the people stuck inside after the explosion, including two trapped under the mounds of rubble for several hours. Authorities say most of the animals inside were also rescued. One store employee remains in critical condition at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
