Seton Hall University mistakenly prints phone sex number on Web

Posted: Updated:

(01/26/06) SOUTH ORANGE ? Seton Hall University officials say they feel a bit embarrassed after posting the number of a phone sex line on a section of their Web site.

School officials say two digits of the number?s area code were swapped, which directed students to the racy service. Representatives of the university say the number was listed on a portion of the site where foreign applicants could call to get their transcripts approved. The number has been removed from the Web site and school officials say it won?t appear on printed applications in the future.

A Seton Hall spokesperson says the magnitude of the incident needs to be kept in perspective. School representatives say the number was on their applications for five years, but they just received their first complaint Wednesday. While some students classified the error as an unfortunate mistake, others say they regret not noticing the misprint sooner so they could call the number.
