Concerned Paterson citizens protest pedophile ex-priest moving into area

Posted: Updated:

? Concerned citizens confronted a former Catholic priest and confessed child molester Sunday after he moved into his new home in Paterson.

A victim's rights group joined family members of James Hanley?s alleged victims at his home on McBride Avenue to warn neighbors he is a pedophile. Patrick Kelly says his brother Jim committed suicide last year because of the former priest?s alleged abuse against both of them. Hanley?s new neighbors say they are concerned he may prey on children again.

Hanely reportedly abused dozens of boys starting in the 1970s, but was not prosecuted due to the statute of limitations.
