Discovery of body in Paterson sparks search for killer

(02/06/06) PATERSON ? Police in Paterson are searching for a killer after a man?s body was found outside an industrial park.

Investigators have identified the victim as Maurice Bowden, a freelance mechanic who police say spent time in both Paterson and Hackensack. Authorities say the killer beat Bowden to death at an unknown location and used the victim?s car to dump the body in Paterson. Police found Bowden?s car one mile away from the body?s location, and police are going door-to-door in that area searching for information.

Police say they don?t have a motive for the murder. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Paterson Police Department at 973-321-1120.
