(02/16/06) ROSELLE - Police responded to an accident scene in Roselle Thursday afternoon after a school bus and SUV collided near 12th Avenue and Rivington Street.

According to police, the bus was carrying students from a private school in Montclair. Authorities say nine people were on the bus at the time of the accident, seven of which were children. Police are investigating the possibility that one of the vehicles ran a stop sign. An eyewitness claims to have seen the school bus go through the stop sign.

Police officers on the scene say the bus passengers and SUV driver appear to have suffered only minor injures. The students on the bus were from the Darren School, a special education high school in Montclair.
