(03/06/06) NEWARK ? Family members of September 11th victims in New Jersey watched events unfold in the sentencing trial of terrorist conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui Monday.

Moussaoui is the only man to face trial for the 9/11 attacks against the United States. Family members who lost loved ones that day were able to watch the court proceedings, taking place in Virginia, on closed circuit television at various federal courthouses. Eighteen jurors began hearing evidence and will ultimately decide if Moussaoui will be put to death for his actions.

Despite their losses, some family members feel Moussaoui should not be put to death. Federal prosecutors contend the convicted conspirator deserves death for not warning authorities of the attacks before September 11th.
