Doctors paint grim picture of upcoming New Jersey allergy season

(03/20/06) NEWARK ? Medical experts say this spring could prove especially difficult for allergy sufferers throughout New Jersey.
According to doctors, winters that end with a period of cold weather typically result in a nasty allergy season. Experts say although the cold will keep allergies at bay, many plants will simultaneously release their pollen on the first warm day of spring. This barrage can be a nightmare for those suffering from seasonal allergies.
Doctors say a new type of long-term allergy medication is currently being tested. That drug could be available to allergy sufferers in about two or three years.
