Plainfield residents plan meeting to reclaim community from violence

Residents in a Plainfield neighborhood have planned a meeting to discuss the violence on their streets.
Former Plainfield Councilwoman Joanne Hollis says homeowners have good reason to be concerned. Hollis questions why teens are so angry that they are shooting each other. One man is afraid to let his children play on the streets after a 19-year-old was shot in the face on the way home from celebrating his birthday last week. Police rounded up 20 Cash Money Brothers gang members in December, but people say that is not enough.
The meeting is Thursday, March 23 at the Liberty Village Community Center from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
