Police search for clean-cut burglars in North Caldwell

(03/28/06) NORTH CALDWELL - Residents in North Caldwell hope police catch a pair of serial burglars before they victimize more homeowners.

Police say the two men have struck five times since the beginning of March. During two incidents, residents actually returned home and came face to face with the robbers. Police say the two men typically ring the doorbell, then go around back to break in if no one answers.

Investigators believe the robbers haven?t raised any red flags in the community because of their appearance. They say the two men dress as if they are college students living in the area. According to police, the robbers have been making off with jewelry and electronics.
